First of all the camping „Sandal” is intended for the tourists who have decided to visit Karelian sights on their own, or those going to inland of Karelia and Murmansk area. The favorable location of our camping guarantees you the possibility of visiting the most beautiful places of the Central and South Karelia, such as Kizhi, Martsialnye vody, the waterfalls Kivach and Girvas, the island Lychny at the lake Sandal, etc.
The camping is located within 22 km. from the town Kondopoga, on the route M-18 Saint-Petersburg – Murmansk, at the distance of 495 km. from Saint-Petersburg. The nearest inhabited localities are: the village Sopokha – 2 km. and the town Kondopoga – 22 km.
The territory of the camping occupies the territory of more than 6 000 sq. m. The camping is located in the delta of Sopokhsky bay of the lake Sandal.
From the north, south and west the camping is surrounded with a mixed forest. Flat landscape prevails on the territory of the camping. The camping was built in 1969.
There are berry bushes – forest raspberry, currants, wild strawberries, great bilberry, bilberries and red bilberries on the territory of the camping. There are also mushrooms from the end of summer and till the middle of autumn.
Also we can suggest good rest for those tourists who prefer staying at one place. You will only have to discuss the possibility and the date of arrival. Mobile phones are functioning on the territory of our recreation centre.
The infrastructure of our camping is rather modest. We especially do not disturb the nature. At our recreation centre there is no need to use split-systems, air conditioners, etc. Here we have only forest, purity, clean water and extraordinary air.
Our camping is situated on the lake which is unique in its purity. The total area is 152 sq. m. The average depth is 12 m., the maximum depth is 58 m. It is a drinking source of the town Kondopoga.
At our guests' disposal:

- Equipped places with brazier, smoking shed and barbeque for shashlik and picnics at the lakeside.
- Launch of boats, cutters; beach.
- The ground for playing volleyball, football, etc.
- Russian sweating-room with brooms for 6 and more people at the lakeside.

- 2 residential buildings with equipped kitchen and crockery.

Summer prefabricated-panel building
Summer prefabricated-panel building has 7 rooms with kitchen at the lakeside. Double rooms have: double beds (there is a possibility of third person – folding bed), bedside-tables, hall-stands, tables, chairs, chest of drawers, balcony with a view to the lake, light, heaters (on request), wall outlets. There is a separate equipped kitchen with gas-stoves, electric kettle (extra service), running water, wash-basin, crockery and necessary equipment in the building. There is a shower cabin and dry closet near the building. Summer WCs are in the street (20 m.).
Two-storeyed wooden hotel
The two-storeyed wooden hotel consisting of 15 rooms (double and triple rooms with a possibility of the additional – third person – folding bed/baby cot).The hotel can accommodate up to 26 people at the same time. All rooms are made of wooden materials.
The rooms have: beds, beddings of „DOCTOR” trademark – 100% cotton; blankets, plaids – 100% camel's hair, bedside-tables, chest of drawers, hall-stands, tables, chairs, TV (on request), wall outlets, light, heaters, ceiling heating (eco-lines). The windows have a view to the forest and the lake.In the building: WC, wash-basin, shower cabin on the 1st floor (under construction), verandahs on each floor with a view to the lake, kitchen with gas-stove, crockery, sink; hall for holding small banquets, etc. Summer WCs are in the street (20 m.). The hotel can be used by large groups for holding corporative activities in spring and autumn (should be booked in advance). From winter 2007 the hotel can be used also in winter.
On the territory of the camping „Sandal” accommodation in tents in summer period is possible. There are specially equipped places for that. The cost of placing a tent + free car park + use of the kitchen in summer building – 250 rub./night. Making camp-fires is allowed only in special places, as the camping is located in water protection zone!

Children: are accommodated with adults – under 7 years of age – free of charge, additional berth for children 8-14 years of age – 230 rub. per night. Arrivals: in the period from 01.06 to 31.09 from any date, for any period upon the advance agreement on availability of the places.
Volleyball and football grounds are near the two-storeyed hotel. You can hire a ball and volleyball net.
The sandy beach and the places for swimming are located close to water, and are separated from the main territory of the base with vegetation areas. There are places for boats near the beach. You can hire towels, plastic and inflatable boats.
Household building is intended for storage of the equipment. In the nearest future we are planning to open a refreshment room in the first corps of the household building.
Russian bath-house consists of 2 buildings, and is located far from the main buildings and has the opposite entrances. It is a real Russian bath-house. Each building has: tea-room with table, sofa, chairs, and sweating-room. In the street near the bath-house there are the benches, tables, places for picnic. Additionally you can order a set of bath belongings, brooms, bed-sheets and towels.
The car park is free and is situated within 70 meters from water and buildings. The parking near the buildings is prohibited. The territory is secured. The gates of the base are closed for night.
